Cars 2

I took the day off on Dina's birthday and we took Jonathan to go see Cars 2. He had been asking to see the movie for weeks and we finally got around to it.

Dina's dad came over to watch Ethan as we didn't want to chance bringing him to the theatre and have him be talking and yelling 'this! this!' the whole movie.

This was Jonathan's first movie in a theatre and he really liked it. He brought his toy Finn McMissle (a new and major character in this film) and would periodically zoom it around when Finn made a screen appearance. He would also periodically lean over to me and tell me what cars he still wanted when they appeared on screen. On occasion I would glance over to Jonathan and he appeared absolutely engrossed in the movie.

And of course, after the movie, he asked if we were going to the toy store.

A Very Rush Weekend

Rush - two gigs in three days in two cities. 6/30/2011 in Vancouver, BC where not only did I get to see them, but got to see them in Canada (haven't done that since around 1990), with Dina for the first time (that was *so* cool), and got to spend Canada Day in Canada with my family for the first time since 1990.

Then on to 7/2/2011 at the Gorge in George, WA in the front row where I also was very fortunate to get a pass to the Meet and Greet (in a very round about way - but much thanks to Charles and to one of my best buddies - Rob).

Vital statistics: 11th Rush concert (and counting), 4th time front row (and counting).
