One the first day of school, the children started learning the daily routine. The first thing they do when they get to school is sit down and write. Each child has a folder and they have to find the folder with their name on it. Once it is found, they get a pen and start writing. As you can see, Jonathan is left handed and he writes using the death grip on the pen. They are supposed to work on that throughout the year.
When they are done, they put their own folder away and go to the carpet.
About half of Jonathan's class are kids he knows from last year. Most of the other kids came from the other morning class from last year. Unfortunately, Jonathan's friend Madison went into the preschool class. Jonathan is in the 4/5s class, although both classes graduate out into Kindergarten.
This new classroom is in a different part of the church then his classroom last year. The classrooms for the older children are downstairs and these rooms are also used for Sunday School.
He had a great first day and seems to be well on his way to learning the new routine. He gets to keep the same coat hook all year too. Last year, the coat hooks varied from day to day and the morning class also had to share the hooks with the afternoon class.
We think it is going to be a great year!
