Jonathan's Illness

Jonathan had a pretty high fever for several days, so I took him into the doctor just to get checked out. The fever ended up lasting for four days. He had not been to the doctor in a while, but was very cooperative with Dr. Schiebel. This was only the second time he seemed to really understand what was going on. The previous time he'd been in to see another doctor and he told the doctor to look at him so he could be done.

This was the fist appointment that Dr. Schiebel spoke directly to Jonathan and Jonathan actually answered his questions and coughed when asked, although he laughed instead of coughed for the first couple of tries at listening to his lungs. I realized at this appointment that my little boy is growing up and has reached the age where the doctor can have a real conversation with him instead of talking to me the whole time. Made me a little sad, but very proud.

Awwww.
I won't tickle you. I need to feel your neck.
It turns out that Jonathan just has a bad virus and the doctor thinks the fever should go away in a day or so. He really misses school and wants to see his friends.

Jonathan ended up feeling better, but it took him a good week to recover.
